Kenney Shape goes along well with this software,
particularly if you're making a voxel game.

Quickly put together a model out of convex objects by putting tiles on them. Good for either retro 3D games or voxel models, and the fact that each piece is convex means it's less likely to glitch up modern physics systems.

Features

  • Make a voxel style level using cubes with tiles mapped on the six faces
  • Show/hide cubes based on elevation (for example, to seperate F1, F2, B1, B2, etc on complex buildings
  • Export to .obj and .fbx as a list of convex objects
  • Use up to six tilesets on each cube, one for each face
  • Preview mode: fly through the model with WASD / Mouse to test it
  • Each tileset has its own tile size- by default 32x32 but can be set to anything, even something hi-res like 256x256. Each tileset normalizes the tiles to 1x1 meters
  • Bend edges of the cube at 45 degree angles
  • Pull down the front/back/right/left faces to make a ramped cube
  • New as of 6/10: Create a cutout screenshot of your model in preview mode by pressing 'T'.

Quickly forge Voxel maps/models and/or early-3D style maps using tilesets. Each model is made into seperate convex objects, which works better with modern physics systems than concave models do.
